UMMS Enterprise Wi-Fi Networks

UMMS’s Wi-Fi network has been redesigned to more closely align with industry best practice. This move toward an updated network infrastructure allows us to reduce risks to the business from cyber-attacks and provides a more secure Wi-Fi network experience. 

UMMS Guest Wi-Fi Network (UMMS-Guest)

This is the UMMS provided, complementary Wi-Fi Network.

  • For any personal wireless device
  • For devices belonging to staff, patients/family and other guests
  • Does not require user authentication and will provide internet access once the user agrees to the terms and conditions when connecting.
  • After eight hours, you will be removed from the guest Wi-Fi network (you will have to re-accept the terms and agreement to reconnect)

UMMS Guest Wi-Fi Network Requirements

  • Agree to the terms and conditions that will pop-up on your device
  • Thirty minute inactivity session timeout
  • Eight hour internet lock out (you will have to re-accept the terms and agreement)

Please note: Your experience may vary depending on your device settings.

UMMS Authorized Staff Wi-Fi Network (Delta)

This Wi-Fi network is for UMMS Staff with UMMS approved business needs.

  • Requires user authentication
  • Intended for corporate use and will require a manager’s approval
  • All EPIC physicians, Meditech Physicians, and TigerConnect users have been pre-authorized for use of this Wi-Fi network

UMMS Authorized Staff Wi-Fi Network Requirements

  • Business-use case justification
  • Active Directory Account
  • Management Approval
  • Pre-Authorized Users – EPIC Physicians, Meditech Physicians, and TigerConnect users

If you believe you require access to the Authorized Staff Wi-Fi Network, and you are not a physician or a TigerConnect user, please log in to the Cherwell Portal. Under Application Access, Select “New Access”, and in the Applications field, type or select “Delta Network”. If you are a physician or TigerConnect user and cannot login to the Authorized Staff Wi-Fi Network, please contact the Helpdesk.

UMMS Production Wi-Fi Network

This is a secured production Wi-Fi network for devices managed by IS&T. This Wi-Fi network is for approved corporate use only.

UMMS Production Wi-Fi Network Requirements

  • WPA2 (AES)/ WPA2 Enterprise
  • Encryption of device’s mass storage
  • Automated screen lock & PIN/Password
  • Commercial antivirus software with automated definition updates
  • Updated Operating System
  • Management approval
  • IS&T Security approval

If you believe you have a device that requires access to the UMMS Production Wi-Fi Network, and don’t have it already, please log in to the Cherwell Portal. Under Application Access, Select “New Access”, and in the Applications field, type “UMMS Production Network”. 

Please be aware of the following:

  1. An additional section will appear at the bottom of the screen when “UMMS Production Network” is selected. Please be sure to scroll down and fill this section completely, missing information will result in the request being delayed or denied.
  2. If the request is for multiple devices of the same manufacturer, model, and use case, you may submit a single request, however please attach a list of individual MAC addresses. This can be done using the paperclip icon located in the menu bar along the top of the request.

How To:

Connect to UMMS-Guest

  1. Open device settings
  2. Go to Wi-Fi settings
  3. Select UMMS-Guest from “choose a network list”.
  4. A terms and agreements page will pop up. Please read and select “I Agree” in order to connect to UMMS-Guest.
  5. Verify that you are now joined to the UMMS-Guest Wi-Fi Network

Connect to the UMMS Authorized Staff Network 

  1. Open device settings
  2. Go to Wi-Fi settings
  3. Select Delta from “Choose a network list”
  4. A login window will open. Please use your AD credentials that you use for EPIC/UMMS Email for access.
  5. Select “Trust”
  6. Verify that you are now joined to the Delta Wi-Fi Network

Forget Old Wi-Fi Networks

  1. Open device settings
  2. Go to Wi-Fi settings
  3. Select the old Wi-Fi network you keep connecting to
  4. Select “Forget This Network” and confirm
  5. You may now join UMMS-Guest or the Delta Wi-Fi Network
