The University of Maryland Access Center (UMAC) is a shared system resource to facilitate movement of patients throughout the system. The UMAC consists of three divisions: Patient Placement, Transport, and Telehealth. We assist both UMMS and non-UMMS facilities with the process of connecting patients with care rapidly and safely.
The following options are available for contacting UMAC:
#1 - emergency requests (e.g. STEMIs, BATs, ECMO consults, etc)
#2 - standard transfer requests
#3 - transport questions (will connect you with AMR)
#4 - Access Center Physician phone
- Tiger the "UMMS Access Center Transfer Coordinators OnDuty" tiger team. For standard transfer questions and assistance.
- Tiger the "UMMS Access Center Physician (ACP)" tiger team. For help finding an appropriate destination, clinical issues with transfer, or escalation of transfer issues
