Electronic Governance, Risk, and Compliance System (eGRC)
The Corporate Compliance and Business Ethics Group (CCBEG) will launch a new Electronic Governance, Risk, and Compliance (eGRC) System, which will replace outdated technology. Once launched, cases will be received via the Compliance Hotline (833-5-TELL-US) and CCBEG's Case Management System. Learn more about our hotline changes and key features.

The Office of Corporate Research Compliance (OCRC) serves as the research compliance oversight office for the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) and their Member Organizations. OCRC is responsible for assuring regulatory execution completeness to support research compliance of clinical research prior to protocol initiation at all UMMS Member Organizations. The office provides guidance to research investigators conducting research within UMMS supports collaboration with the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), facilitates access to Pharmaceutical Industry study sponsors and provides reliance to External Institutional Review Boards (IRB).
Institutional Review Boards
University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) has a single FWA (00013508) covering all UMMS affiliated centers: UMMS IAA form.
UMMS Member Organizations and their providers have access to the Western Institutional Review Board (WCG IRB), Advarra (CIRBI), University of Maryland, College Park (UMD IRB), SMART IRB, and National Cancer Institute (CIRB) under master Institutional Authorization Agreements (IAA). University of Maryland, Baltimore IRB is available for UMB faculty and through selected appointments as Principal Investigators for Adjunct faculty researchers within the UMMS member Organizations. There is a master IAA between UMMS and UMB covering all UMB researchers at UMMS Member Organizations.
