COMPASS Operational Workgroups

COMPASS Senior Leaders and team members lead and/or participate in several operational workgroups comprised of leaders system-wide that work to make improvements to Epic Portfolio applications and associated operational workflows.

Each of these workgroups are authorizing bodies for cross-enterprise changes to the Prelude, Cadence, and Grand Central modules, among others. In addition, many of these leaders also participate in other workgroups where there is cross-application impact.

Patient Access Team

  • Discusses issues, concerns, and projects related to registration and scheduling, including system enhancements, training, and workflows
  • Meets weekly on Tuesdays from 12:00-1:30pm

Epic Payor Plan Workgroup

  • Reviews and prioritizes edits and new requests for Epic payors and/or plans
  • Bi-Weekly on Friday.

COMPASS Optimization and Prioritization

  • Reviews and prioritizes requests for enhancements for Epic Prelude, Cadence, and Grand Central
  • Typically meets weekly on Thursday.

Ambulatory Implementation Committee

  • Reviews and prioritizes new requests for Ambulatory Scheduling and EMR departments
  • Reviews and prioritizes enhancements from Epic Prelude, Cadence and Grand Central
  • Meets bi-weekly for one hour on Thursdays

COMPASS Excursion Training Workgroup

with Epic Portfolio Prelude, Cadence and Grand Central Certified/Credentialed Trainers

  • Reviews Epic Portfolio registration, scheduling, and ADT training curriculum materials, including trainer guides, classroom exercises, documentation, training tools, etc.
  • Collaborates to standardize training content across UMMS and FPI for patient access functions
  • Meets monthly
