Vendor Information

In order to be a vendor partner of the University of Maryland Medical System, potential vendors must be approved before providing services to UMMS. Vendors are encouraged to seek credentialing in order to provide services related to patient health information and on-site service and support in clinical environments.

Frequently Asked Questions about vendor credentialing include:

  • What’s the difference between credentialed and approved vendors? Approved vendors have been approved by UMMS as a valid business provider of goods or services. Credentialed vendors are approved vendors that have completed required training in order provide services related to patient health information or on-site service in clinical environments.
  • Do all vendors need to be credentialed? No. Vendors should seek credentialing in order to work with patient health information or provide on-site service at a clinical location.
  • Is there a list of approved vendors? Employees can do a query in HEMM to review a list of approved vendors.
