Supply Chain Governance
Supply Chain participates in meetings with system executives to help steer purchasing strategies and manage purchasing costs while ensuring the best clinical outcomes. Supply Chain partners with clinicians across medical and surgical specialties, including labs, radiology, facilities, and dietary to maximize supplier contracts and navigate vendor negotiations.
The UMMS Supply Chain is part of the Southeast Collaborative (SEC), a regional committee of hospital systems containing academic medical centers. Members of the SEC use its collective purchasing power to drive down costs on clinical commodities. Current members of the SEC also include Tampa General, University of Alabama Birmingham Health System, Emory Healthcare, and University of Florida Health.
