Casual, professional attire. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement. Jeans are not permitted but sneakers are fine. All shoes must have closed toes and closed heels (no sandals). Please also be sure to wear your UMMS badge. Your badge will not work on any card readers, doors, or parking lots at UM SJMC. You will be issued a working badge upon check-in.

UM St. Joseph Medical Center is located at 7601 Osler Drive, Towson, MD 21204. Once you arrive, please park in the Main Entrance Garage and take a ticket. Bring the ticket in to be validated. Please stop at The Main Entrance Desk and ask for directions to the Volunteer Office which is located on the 1st floor. Your parking will be Validated by the Volunteer Office.

Arrival Time

Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your first shift to allow time to park. For all subsequent shifts, please arrive 10 minutes prior.

PPE

You will be provided with a KN95 mask at the volunteer site. If the role warrants additional protection (based on assignment and UMMS policy) you will be provided with and fit tested for a N95. If you would like to have further discussion regarding your masking needs, please call us at 443-462-3982 or email EHS-Corporate@umm.edu prior to your shift. If you have questions or need a replacement mask while onsite, please don't hesitate to reach out to someone on your unit.

Please be sure to review all orientation materials before arriving on site. We cover PPE training and demonstrations during the one-hour eLearning module you are required to participate in before your first shift.

Timekeeping

If you are an hourly team member who needs to clock in, we will direct you to a Kronos clock for pin punching. We will review the pin punching instructions included in your orientation when you arrive.

Meals

To ensure we are able to maintain proper social distancing, we ask that you eat any meals in the cafeteria. You are welcome to get food from the cafeteria or bring food with you – microwaves and water dispensers are available.

We also have a Subway onsite which is open from 7:00am-10:00pm. Vending machines are available throughout the hospital, primarily in waiting rooms. Most machines accept credit/debit cards. Should you need cash while onsite, there are two ATMs; one at the main entrance on the ground floor and one on the 1st floor just past the cafeteria and Subway, outside of the Credit Union.

Cafeteria Hours:

  • Daily: 7:00am - 6:00pm
