Telemedicine/Teleport

The sustained increase in demand for telemedicine remains one of the lasting changes in the healthcare landscape brought about by the pandemic. Once a fairly uncommon care delivery method, telemedicine is now an integral part of the digital healthcare experience that patients expect.

This is why expanding access to telemedicine while improving the experience for both patients and providers is central to our digital health strategy.

To that end, UMMS developed Teleport, its own Epic-integrated telehealth platform for audio and video visits. It was made available to all UMMS ambulatory practices in November 2021.

Teleport makes it easy for providers and patients to meet virtually. It breaks down barriers associated with the telehealth experience, including those related to technology and language.

Telemedicine, and specifically our Teleport platform, can:

• Address health equity concerns by providing one-click language integration
• Simplify workflows by enabling visits to start visits without administrative support with just a few clicks of a mouse
• Improve patient and provider satisfaction by offering a platform with no outside apps or accounts needed, which the patient can join from any device
