Digital Health Services
The digital services that we will initiate or enhance during our multi-year, phased digital health plan are aimed at transforming the patient journey by improving access and care delivery and attracting new patients.
Improving patient access to and delivery of care with advanced appointment options:
- Implement real-time, online self-scheduling across all of UMMS
- Expand the use of telemedicine, including Teleport / eConsult
- Smooth patient arrival experience for both staff and patients by expanding use of pre-visit tools, including e-check-in, consents, questionnaires, reminders (text, email and voice); real-time authorization and online collection of co-pays
- Engage in remote patient monitoring pilots - diabetes (glucose monitoring) and cardiology (cardiac device monitoring)
Attracting patients with an integrated "Digital Front Door" experience:
- Initially focus our digital front door efforts on enhancements to umms.org and MyPortfolio, which has a smartphone app.
- Enhance Find a Doctor online profiles to include all UMMS locations where each physician sees patients; a recent headshot; biography, clinical interests and more.
- Integrate our Press Ganey patient satisfaction survey ratings and reviews into Find a Doctor profiles.
- Develop a comprehensive internal referral strategy with integrated scheduling to make it easier for patients to access specialty care.
