Provider Wellness Program

Our physicians’ and advanced practice providers' wellness is critical for our organization’s success. The importance of provider wellness and its associated impact on patient satisfaction and safety is a national priority as well as a UMPN priority. Hence, we created the Provider Wellness Program (PWP) to address burnout.

Burnout is correlated with several lifestyle challenges that face many providers (i.e. fatigue, interpersonal relationships, and work productivity). The goal of the PWP is to cultivate engagement, leverage resilience, create joy in the workplace and help you thrive in this fast-paced health environment.

UMPN is embarking on concerted strategies to promote a sustainable culture of wellness by providing tools and resources to manage stress and burnout. These strategies are supported by the highest level of the organization and include having open and candid discussion with the chief executive officer; coaching and nurturing providers; developing workflow efficiency; cultivating community at work; promoting flexibility and work-life integration and organizing retreat and venues on the importance of exercising “mindfulness.”
