COMPASS Site Visits
COMPASS Site Visits provide departments with one-on-one access to an expert COMPASS Support Analyst who observes, supports, and helps current staff resolve challenges with their day-to-day processes. The main objective is to discover and identify workflow break points and help glue them back together.
Typically, site visits help to resolve more than just a few technical issues with Epic Portfolio registration or scheduling. Sometimes, site visits will result in a list of recommendations that may help your department achieve its goals.
These recommendations may help reduce claim denials, billing errors, and workqueue volumes (for both front-end and back-end teams). It’s highly likely your team will also learn the best tips and tricks for navigating through the system, looking up patients, identifying payer plans, and more. It may even be possible that your department could see an increase in patient satisfaction!
Here’s a list of just some of the items reviewed during a COMPASS site visit:

Requesting a Site Visit
To request a site visit or ask a question about this program, department managers can send an email to COMPASS Support at compass@fpi.umaryland.edu.
When setting up your site visit, you can expect:
- An initial phone call to discuss specific needs or concerns.
- Flexible day-of scheduling: We can visit your office during times of high or low patient volumes, and stay as long as needed. It’s up to you!
- A follow-up report that includes a comprehensive summary of the visit and any recommendations or resulting action items.
Ultimately, our goal is to provide your department with the tools, resources, and expert know-how that your team needs in order to achieve its goals.
