COMPASS Quality Assurance
The COMPASS Team works diligently to assure the quality of registration data within Epic Portfolio. This process starts with training new and existing employees on the importance of registering patients accurately in the system. What follows next is a series of check-ins, called Pathfinder Check-Ins, with new trainees and their managers/supervisors to review their progress.
Pathfinder Check-In Program
Through the Pathfinder Check-In, COMPASS Training and Support team members provide follow-up consultations to new registration staff 30 and 90 days after their completion of the Epic Portfolio Registration course. These consultations allow new staff members to review the quality of their registration work with COMPASS experts who can answer questions about registration processes and guide new staff on best practices.
As part of COMPASS Team's focus on quality assurance, the goal of this program is to:
- review key concepts of registration in Epic Portfolio with new employees
- ensure that new employees have brief but dedicated check-in time to talk with and ask questions to an Epic registration expert on the COMPASS team
- help assure that registration data accuracy and integrity is maintained from user to user, location to location, and from organization to organization
Pathfinder Check-In Process
30 days after a trainee completes Epic Portfolio Registration training, a COMPASS staff member will schedule a phone call with the employee to review their registration activity in Epic Portfolio and answer any follow-up questions.
- If the employee passes the registration review, a second follow-up will be scheduled in another 60 days.
- If not, a one-on-one mentoring session will be scheduled with the employee to review any registration errors and make corrections where possible. Then, the COMPASS Team will follow up with the employee again in another 30 days.
