Announcing The Patient Flow Project Accelerator (PFPA)!
The PFPA brings together experts in a variety of fields related to patient flow such as clinical medicine, data and analytics, finance, legal, telehealth and many others, to support patient flow initiatives throughout UMMS. Our mission is to enhance and support innovation across the system in the areas of patient flow and capacity management. The PFPA is here to partner with local UMMS facilities to support initiatives across the system addressing:
•Emergency Department throughput and crowding
•Hospital length of stay
•Expediting hospital discharges
•Facilitating interhospital transfers
•Leveraging telehealth to provide more rapid access to care
•Smoothing OR flow
•And many more! Any project that relates to patient flow, access to care, or capacity management.
Helping You Improve Patient Flow Processes
Partnering with the PFPA provides, at no charge, the following benefits to UMMS hospitals and clinics looking to improve their patient flow processes:
- Rapid access to experts, resources and best practices from a variety of areas to accelerate local projects
- A centralized view of projects across the system, so leaders can easily see and learn from what other institutions within UMMS are doing
- The ability to help understand best practices and apply patient flow literature to individual projects and challenges
- Removing the “red tape” to maximize the success and efficiency of patient flow quality improvement
