Employee COVID-19 Vaccinations
The University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) has a responsibility to protect our patients, communities and team members from COVID-19. Staying up to date with your vaccination is critical to maintaining optimal protection against severe illness, hospitalization and death. You are considered up to date when you have received all recommended doses, including the primary series and the most recent booster dose recommended for you.
CDC recommends that everyone stay up to date with their vaccination to maintain optimal protection. Visit the CDC's website to learn more.
UMMS is offering vaccine appointments through our local hospitals to make it as easy as possible for our workforce to stay up to date with their COVID-19 vaccinations. Please click on the links below for more information and to make an appointment at your local hospital.
Vaccine Appointment Reminders
- All team members must bring their employee ID badge to be vaccinated at an UMMS location.
- Bring your COVID-19 vaccination card to your appointment so your vaccination can be recorded.
- Learn how to get a replacement vaccine card, if needed.
- Make sure you take a photo of your COVID-19 vaccine card to have as a backup and keep it in a safe place.
- We will not collect any specific details on medical diagnoses from eligible team members who are immunocompromised and either 1) receive the third dose of their primary series at an UMMS location, or 2) submit documentation for the third dose of their primary series (if received at a non-UMMS location).
Here are some other important things to know:
- Team members may also go to their local pharmacy or other community clinic. Visit vaccines.gov to find a location near you. You can also text your ZIP code to 438829 or call 1-800-232-0233 to find vaccine locations near you in the United States.
- If you are vaccinated at a non-UMMS location (like your doctor's office or local pharmacy), please submit documentation to us at umms.org/EmployeeVax. If you have gotten more than one booster, please submit all booster shots and especially the most recent.
