Internal Communications

The Internal Communications team develops and delivers quality content to support the strategic initiatives of the University of Maryland Medical System and our partner hospitals. With an emphasis on fostering an employee-focused and patient-first culture, the team uses a collaborative approach to the design, production, and distribution of communications materials.

At a local level, Internal Communications manages messaging and coordinates outreach to all or most employees within a specific site. The team works with senior executives and leadership to communicate the hospital’s news and events, employee activities, and recognition programs as well as organize leadership meetings, town-hall presentations, and special events. Additionally, the team is responsible for creating and maintaining the content on the UMMC Insider and UMMS Insider, as well as helping local sites build or transfer intranet material onto a common platform for all members.
