Media Relations and Corporate Communications
The University of Maryland Medical System Department of Communications and Public Affairs manages external communications and media relations, employee communications, and Web-based communications channels for the Medical System (public web sites & employee intranet sites). Our team works diligently to help promote, advance and protect the reputation of our 13-hospital Medical System, and to communicate critical organizational information to employees. Issues/Crisis Communications
- 24/7 coverage
- Coordinate responses to media with executive leadership, risk management, legal, compliance
- Serve as spokespeople to media and as Public Information Officers (PIOs) during incidents (Hospital Incident Command)
- Coordinate with system hospital CEOs/communications leaders
Web & Communications Technology
- Web strategy
- Web software & hardware (content management systems) management
- Web programming
- Digital sign software/hardware management
Strategic Internal/Employee Communications
- Employee Intranet governance and content
- Emergency employee communications (text messaging, intranet, email)
- Internal project communications planning
