Introducing UMMS Systemwide Recall Management Subscription Service, “OneRecall”

October 28, 2021

Effective August 1, 2021, the University of Maryland Medical System Corporate Contracts Department executed a contract with Inmar Rx Solutions for recall management. The recall management service is called OneRecall. It is a web-based subscription service that provides timely healthcare product alerts electronically to hospitals and other healthcare companies. The purpose of the service is to improve patient safety by automating many of the manual processes used to handle product and safety alerts.

This web-based recall service can be used by any acute and non-acute UMMS facility, department and staff. If this service would be helpful to you or your department, please reach out to your hospital Facility Manager listed below. They will assist in subscribing you to this recall service and provide you login information to get started and trained.

How the OneRecall Service Works:

  • Inmar Team obtains an alert (websites/monitored sources/manufacturer/vendors/users/etc.)
  • Inmar Alert Content Team receives/validates the alert.
  • Inmar Alert Content Team releases alert.
  • Alert Coordinators at each hospital assigned to their recall category will receive an alert (Alert Coordinator can identify a Responder to serve as back-up if Alert Coordinator is unavailable) and follow through with closing out the alert.
  • Facility Manager oversees the recall process for their specific facility. They have full visibility of all open alerts for their site under their manage queue to ensure alerts are documented and closed out in a timely fashion.

Roles:
Facility Manager – Acts as Account Manager on a facility level. They assist in setting up users, timelines and filters for staff.
Coordinators – This role is for staff that will receive alert notifications for their domains (categories) as recall alerts are sent out. This staff role will investigate, resolve and close the recall/alert.
Responders – This role would be used for back-ups or any front-line staff to a department if the Coordinators need assistance or not in the immediate area to pull product, label, segregate product, etc.
