Transition to Infor ERP: What You Need to Know

You’ve heard that we’re switching to Infor. Why does it matter and how will the switch to Infor ERP benefit you? There is a lot to be excited about.

What is Infor?

Infor will replace the Meditech system currently in use at UM Charles Regional Medical Center.  The change from Meditech to Infor provides UM CRMC, a best-in-class system which will increase automation, streamline processing, and standardized reporting that will change the way we do business in human resources, payroll, financial and supply chain management.

What do I need to know about using Infor?

  • There will be changes in your workflow, Infor will bring numerous technology improvements from our current system.

  • As we make the transition to Infor, you will be provided with information in advance, so that you are as prepared as possible.  Team members will be able to access personal employee data and pay history in addition to ordering goods and services and managing departmental finances. Trainings will be scheduled based on your job roles.

What can I expect?

  • Improved Team Member & Manager Self Service: The new Employee Self Service and Manager Self Service functionality will provide you a one-stop service any time, day or night (24/7) for all information related to your employment, including personal and pay information.

  • Enhanced Financial & Management Reporting: The enhanced ledger will provide more consistency in the way Accounting Units and Accounts are named and numbered to support an easier transition and enhance reporting/analytics in the future. This will also mean increased accuracy and completeness through standardized reporting across the organization.

  • New Standardized Processes: UMMS is using a design approach that includes standardization of key business processes. These processes are applied across UMMS to drive more efficient and consistent processing with fewer manual tasks, enhanced data analytics and increased automation for better visibility into our data.

  • Complete Lifecycle Procure-to-Pay Process: The new Procure-to-Pay Supply Chain Management model will facilitate the timely acquisition of goods and services from requisition to payment.

What Happens Next?

  • Communications: As we move closer to go-live, communications will contain more detailed information about what is changing and how to prepare. Communications will come to you in a variety of ways: UMMSConnect, your local Insider, email, webinars, huddle topics and in meetings with local leadership.

  • Training: Training through UMMS U will begin soon. Watch closely for training notifications from UMMS U. Training will be delivered through eLearning and in-classroom, depending on your role. Training is mandatory.

  • Support: During the early part of the rollout, we anticipate processes may initially be slower, and we may learn about some issues that will require immediate resolution and others that point to needs in the form of future design changes. A robust post go-live support model will be in place until operational environments are stabilized to ensure continuity in business processes, prepare and enable our employees for seamless use of the new system, and make certain that day-to-day operations are unimpeded.

Our commitment to our team members, now and always, is optimizing the user experience and ensuring system stability. Our project team promises to provide you with all the necessary resources for a successful launch of the new Infor system.
