Transition to Infor and UMMS People Planning to Create an Improved Team Member Experience

This fall, UM Charles Regional Medical Center will join other UMMS member organizations in using new technologies for managing our major business processes. This transition to consistent technology platforms is part of our move toward One UMMS, our shared commitment to come together and leverage the benefits of being part of a stronger, more sustainable statewide System.

Over the next several months, UM CRMC will implement two new systems: Infor ERP and UMMS People Planning (Kronos). These systems will provide a number of benefits to our team members and will change the way we do business in the following areas:

  • Human Resources (HR)

  • Payroll

  • Financial Management

  • Supply Chain Management

  • Timekeeping, Scheduling and Planning

As we make this transition, we want to provide you with the information you need in advance, so you are as prepared as possible. Through email, fliers and online updates, our project teams commit to keeping you informed about how and when these transitions will be occurring.

HOW ARE WE DOING THIS?
A project team comprised of team members and leaders from UM Charles Regional Medical Center and Corporate Shared Services is assembled and focused on these transitions. Their goal is to make the transition to the Infor and People Planning platforms as seamless as possible. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in both areas will be trained in advance and lead the way in helping you learn the new systems.

WHY ARE WE MAKING THIS CHANGE?
These changes are another vital step towards our vision of One UMMS, streamlining our processes to produce greater collaboration, enhanced operations and ultimately, higher quality care to the people of Maryland. These systems offer many benefits, including

WHEN IS THIS HAPPENING?
The move to Infor and People Planning is expected to occur in mid-September. These two systems are interdependent, and the go-lives will take place within a few weeks of each other.

WHEN WILL I BE TRAINED ON HOW TO USE THE NEW SYSTEMS?
Over the next several months, you will hear more about training opportunities and practice using the new systems before they go live. Updates will be posted on OneUMMS.org, the UMMS Insider and the CRMC Insider.

ABOUT THE MOVE TO INFOR

Infor, which is already used by UMMS Human Resources, Payroll, Supply Chain, and Financial Management, is a best-in-class system which will increase automation, streamline processing and standardize reporting. Now, we’re expanding it to deliver these benefits System-wide.

ABOUT THE MOVE TO PEOPLE PLANNING

An important part of enhancing the work environment across UMMS is creating shared processes for knowing when you are going to work, what you can accomplish during your working hours, and how you are compensated for that work. Our goal is to create a more collaborative and consistent work environment that allows us to deliver the best possible care to our patients across UMMS. To achieve this, we are implementing a new technology platform called UMMS People Planning using the industry-leading Kronos Workforce Central software for timekeeping, scheduling and analytics.
