Subject: RQC Search for Item with Special Characters in Manufacturer Number

This notification is intended for Infor Requisition Self-Service users at:

  • UM St. Joseph Medical Center
  • UM Baltimore Washington Medical Center
  • UMMS Corporate Shared Services

Wave 1 of the Infor Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation went LIVE three months ago, and since that time, we have been evaluating functionality and looking for opportunities for improvement. Today we have an important update to share about your user experience.

What is New?

It was recently identified a small number of contracted items, less than 1%, have a special character in the manufacturer number. This special character “breaks” the search and returns a message that no items could be found.

What do I do if I need to order the item?

If you need to place an order for an item that has a special character in the manufacturer number, there are two options:

Option #1: If you know the Infor (or HEMM) item number, you can use that to search via the RQC “EXPRESS ORDER” or “SEARCH CATALOG” shopping method.

Option #2: If you do not know the Infor (or HEMM) item number, you can order it as a special item following these instructions:

1. Select “Special/Service” tab from menu

 

 

2. Begin entering product information Note: If you do not have this information available, please contact the Purchasing team for product information and pricing help.

3. Then select “Add”

 

4. Review item has been added to cart

5. Return to add more items via “Search Catalog” if needed, or select Release to begin approval process

 

Will this be fixed?

Yes. The Infor implementation team plans to fix this issue with a software update this summer. Once that software update has been applied, there will no longer be a need for this workaround process. Future communications will share more information on that update.
