BI Launchpad Access 

What is the BI Launchpad?

The BI Launchpad is a third-party reporting tool used for accessing, creating, scheduling and distributing both Crystal and Web Intelligence reports. 

The Business Objects web application (BI Launchpad) is used for accessing, scheduling, viewing, creating, modifying and distributing Crystal and Web Intelligence (Webi) reports.

How do I obtain access into BI Launchpad?

Access to BI Launchpad is provided by the Enterprise Data and Analytics team. There are two types of access, Basic and Power User.  

User Types and Access Requirements

The Basic user will have access to view, run and schedule reports.

The Power user will have access to create, modify, view, run and schedule Webi reports.

 

Access Requirements

 To gain Basic or Power user access to BI Launchpad reporting tool, all users must:

1. Submit the access request for BI Launchpad, via the Service Help Desk Portal.  Click here to launch the Service Help Desk Portal.

2. Complete the required on-line learning modules through UMMS U 

Required On-line Modules

  • UMM-4900 - REP BI Launchpad
  • UMM-3710 – EPIC-Overview of Reporting and Reporting Tools

3Power Users must additionally:

  • Attend the Instructor Led, Advanced Business Objects Universe and Webi session. The course will offer an understanding of the Universe, BI Launchpad navigation, modifying and scheduling reports, building reports from a Universe and formatting.  Self-registration for this session can be found in the UMMS U . The session is listed as, Advanced Business Objects Universe and Webi. 

4. Meet the Power User Checklist requirements below

 

  • I am a Manager, Report Writer or Consumer
  • I will perform reporting duties at least fifty percent or more of my time. 
  • My current responsibilities include viewing, scheduling, accessing and distributing reports using Access, Excel, Crystal Reports or other reporting tools.
  • I have experience and a strong understanding in the use of formulas, SQL or other programming languages for extracting, querying and/or filtering data in Access, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata or other relationship databases.

Available Courses

Cogito Reporting Tools

The course will provide an overview of Application Reports, System (Patient) List, Radar Dashboards, Reporting Workbench (RWB), and BI Launchpad. Users will also gain a perspective of navigating, modifying, viewing, saving, and exporting all reports.

Service Line Cogito Reporting Tools

The course will provide a concentration on service line specific reports for the end-users of a respective area. The session will provide an overview of service line specific- Application Reports, System (Patient) List, Radar Dashboards, Reporting Workbench (RWB), and BI Launchpad reports.

 

Additionally, users will gain a perspective of navigating, modifying, viewing, saving, and exporting all reports. End-Users are provided with the top reports used for their specified workflows and reporting needs.

Basic Business Objects Universe and Web Intelligence

The course will provide an understanding of BI Launchpad navigation; and overview of Universes and Webi reports.

 

The Basic Business Objects Universe and Webi course is geared towards managers and consumers who will view, run and access reports.

Advanced Business Objects Universe and Web Intelligence

The Advanced course will offer an understanding of Universes, Webi reports; and creation of simple adhoc reports for respective areas.

This class is geared to end-users who will spend fifty percentof their time writing reports.
