UMMS Employee Participation in Media Events, Meetings and Legislative Testimony on Behalf of the Organization Policy

Covid-19 Response

Jan. 14, 2021

A new policy went into effect on January 14, 2021, that outlines the process UMMS employees should follow when planning to interact with the media, elected officials, government partners, or other organizations on the System’s behalf.

The UMMS Employee Participation in Media Events, Meetings and Legislative Testimony on Behalf of the Organization Policy will ensure that we are clear and consistent in our communication of the System’s perspective and positions. According to the policy, employees should coordinate with UMMS External Affairs before speaking with the media or any other organization or elected official in their capacity as an UMMS employee or on the System’s behalf.
