Program Schedule
The UMMC Dietetic Internship is a full-time internship 40 weeks in duration, including 3 weeks of vacation. Interns typically work a forty-hour week, hours vary with rotation.

Registration Eligibility Requirements
Dietetic Interns must meet all requirements of the UMMC Dietetic Internship Graduation Policy Agreement, including successful completion of rotations and compliance with project, attendance and behavioral standards.
Upon completion of the dietetic internship program, a verification statement will be provided. The intern will then be eligible to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) entry-level registration exam for dietitians.
State Licensure
Several states have enacted laws which regulate the practice of dietetics. Deititan-Nutritionists and Nutritionists are required to be licensed in the state of Maryland. The UMMC Dietetic Internship does not meet the US Department of Education requirements for student financial aid. Scholarships are available through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as state and local associations and certain member interest groups.
