Stoler Center for Advanced Medicine

The Roslyn and Leonard Stoler Center for Advanced Medicine will provide state-of-the-art inpatient and outpatient cancer services to meet the escalating demands for cancer care well into the future.
The number of patients served and treatments provided by the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) has tripled in the last 11 years, while the cancer center has operated in roughly the same footprint.
Construction on the nine-story, 155,000-square-foot cancer center addition will start in late 2021, with completion expected in 2024.
Baltimore-area businessman Leonard Stoler and his wife, Roslyn, gave a historic cornerstone gift to help fund the major expansion of UMGCCC in 2018. Their generous gift is the largest philanthropic donation in the history of the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Construction Updates
As we continue preparations for the upcoming work on The Roslyn and Leonard Stoler Center for Advanced Medicine, the South Entrance (Gudelsky Building Entrance) will be remodeled to serve as the new main entrance to the hospital during that construction. This remodeling will require the closure of the South Entrance from March 24 through the end of August 2021.

In advance of the upcoming work, preparations are underway, including the relocation of the Radiation Oncology Waiting Room and shuttle services. As contractors begin laying the foundations, this work may impact vehicular and pedestrian traffic and transportation flow in the area.
South Entrance Closure Starting March 24, 2021
- Patients/care partners (visitors) who typically enter via the South Entrance will enter via the Main Entrance at the Corner of West Baltimore and Greene Streets between 5 am - 9 pm The Main Entrance is locked during evening hours but security will be present in case of an emergency.
- Care partners (visitors) entering overnight (9 pm - 5 am) will now enter the Shock Trauma Entrance located near the corner of Lombard and Penn Streets.
- The Radiation Oncology Waiting room currently located below the bridge will be moved so no occupants will be directly below the area of construction
- The sidewalks surrounding this corner will be accessible throughout construction
We will continue to communicate updates as work progresses. We appreciate your patience during construction.
