Baltimore Convention Center Field Hospital

Initially established to meet the need for care due to COVID-19, the inpatient facility of Baltimore Convention Center Field Hospital (BCCFH), managed jointly by Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM) and University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), closed as of June 10, 2021.
The Baltimore Convention Center continues to provide:
- Testing for COVID
- COVID vaccinations
- Outpatient monoclonal antibody infusion treatment

BCC Outpatient COVID Infusion Center
The Baltimore Convention Center is now operating an outpatient infusion Center to administer monoclonal antibody therapies, approved by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) under Emergency Use Authorizations (EUA).
The monoclonal antibody therapy offered at the BCC COVID Infusion Center are a combination of casirivimab and imdevimab, administered simultaneously (more widely known as Regeneron, the manufacturer of these treatments).
Both treatments have the same FDA Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) criteria and have been demonstrated to reduce COVID-19 hospitalization or emergency room visits when administered within 10 days of symptom onset.
Only eligible patients who have been referred by a provider and then approved will receive treatment here.
About BCC Field Hospital
The 250-bed, $5 million facility established in March of 2020 had a footprint of nearly 100,000 square feet. During its nearly 18 months of operations, the BCCFH celebrated 1,495 patient discharges.

Staffing and Management

BCCFH’s staff are external, medical professionals and health care workers hired by UMMS and JHM. Both organizations continue to work as a system managing the testing, vaccination and outpatient treatment facilities and providing care as needed.
