Liver Dialysis Machine Preserves Organ Function for Critical Liver Patients

Schedule Grand Rounds - Transplant

When Gavin Class, a 20-year-old athlete, suffered a sever case of heatstroke, his liver and other major organs shut down. Class received a liver transplant at University of Maryland Medical Center and recovered from organ failure with the help of UMMC's liver dialysis machine.
