Orthopedics Research
The University of Maryland Department of Orthopaedics has an extensive research program with a long-standing reputation for cutting edge investigation in musculoskeletal conditions. We are a national leader in clinical and basic science research, and are committed to advancing and disseminating orthopaedic knowledge. Our research is supported largely through extramural funding from the National Institutes of Health, the US Department of Defense, and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute.
Our faculty are experts in their respective fields and have published hundreds or peer-reviewed journal articles, textbooks, and chapters. Our Department is committed to progressing orthopaedic knowledge as well as developing the research careers of clinicians and scientists. Many of our research programs include opportunities for students and recent graduates to participate in the development and implementation of these studies.
