Infusion
University of Maryland Medical Center Serpick Infusion and Multidisciplinary Center is located within a beautiful, two-story glass atrium that looks onto a peaceful garden and features 18 custom infusion chairs that were designed with patient comfort in mind.
The center is staffed by compassionate, highly-experienced oncology-certified nurses and board-certified medical oncologists who guide patients through therapy. In relaxing infusion recliners, patients can watch DVDs/TV, listen to their iPod, or work on their laptop with the convenience of WiFi access.

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures
- Thoracentesis
- Lumbar punctures

- Bone marrow biopsies and aspiration
Clinical expertise and compassionate care are the hallmarks of our oncology professional and support staff. With your safety and comfort in mind, we provide infusion of chemotherapy, blood products, intravenous fluids, antibiotics, targeted therapies and growth factors. For added peace of mind, we offer an introductory class for patients. Our nurses are available by phone to address any questions or concerns patients or their families may have following treatment.
We also offer a chemotherapy class three times a week, to help patients prepare for this treatment phase. Patients who attend receive educational packets, as well as valuable information about managing side effects. Perhaps most importantly, they also learn that their nurses and physicians are never more than a phone call away.
