The Cancer Center Program at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health and the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center have various partnerships with a network of community organizations to offer classes, support groups and other resources for cancer patients and their caregivers. These resources specifically help cancer patients and their families to overcome various obstacles and lessen the financial, legal and emotional burdens of cancer.
Patient Resource Center
The Clark Comprehensive Breast Center at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health has a Patient Resource Center, featuring Internet access and information on the latest research and clinical trials, enabling patients to make informed choices about available breast cancer treatments and support services.
For additional information about the Patient Resource Center or the services it provides, call 410-820-9400.
Look Good Feel Better
Look Good...Feel Better is a program offered by the National Cosmetology Association and the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association in conjunction with the American Cancer Society. The program teaches patients beauty techniques that help them cope with hair loss and skin changes during cancer treatment.
Survivors Offering Support (SOS) is a unique program that pairs women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer with trained volunteers who can offer emotional support and insight like no one else can because they’ve tackled the disease themselves. This important source of emotional support and resources can help make the breast cancer journey an easier one to navigate.
Whether you are facing breast cancer and could benefit from the help of a mentor, or if you are a breast cancer survivor that would like to be considered for training as a mentor, SOS is for you.
For additional information about mentor services available or information about becoming a mentor, call 410-822-1000 ext. 7161.
