Transfer Instructions for Gift of Stock

 

Avoid all capital gains taxes by donating appreciated securities held for more than one year, regardless of whether or not you itemize. Before you arrange for the donation of a stock gift to Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) please call or write us to provide the following information:

    1. The name and address of the donor.

    2. The name of the stock and number of shares (or dollar amount) you intend to give.

    3. The purpose for which the gift is intended.

    4. Any special instructions regarding the actual transfer or sale of the stock.

Retirement Account Designation

Individuals of any age with an IRA, a 401(k), or other tax-deferred retirement account can designate MWPH as a beneficiary for all or part of it. Support the future of MWPH, take withdrawals during your lifetime, adjust beneficiary designations as needed, and achieve favorable tax results for your heirs. IRA Charitable Rollover

 

Individuals 70½ or older may transfer IRA assets of up to $100,000 a year to MWPH. A spouse with a separate IRA can also make an IRA charitable rollover gift. The amount of the gift won’t be included in your taxable income, yet the transferred amount can count toward your required minimum distribution. Assets from another retirement plan, such as a 401(k), must first be moved into a traditional IRA, and then transferred to MWPH.
