The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Program (PM&R) provides rehabilitation services to children and adolescents who have congenital or acquired disabilities, or are in need of intensive rehabilitation following surgery, illness or a traumatic injury.

The PM&R program strives to help individuals realize their fullest potential and enhance their overall quality of life upon return to the community.

We emphasize:

  • Maximizing functional outcome in areas of mobility
  • Self-care
  • Communication
  • Cognition and psychosocial adjustment for patients

Education and training provide families with the knowledge and skills needed to meet the health care needs of their children and prepares patients and their families for life in the community.

The PM&R program provides all of their services in a family-centered, inpatient environment as well as in outpatient and community settings to ensure continuity and cost-effective care. In addition, we collaborate and consult closely with a variety of specialists from local university teaching hospitals.

This program is accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) and The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for the hospital's Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation Program with a Pediatric Specialty Program.
