Universal Masking Policy

During this difficult and uncertain time, ensuring that our patients and staff stay safe and protected is foremost in our minds. To that end, we have made the decision to move to a Universal Masking policy as of April 6, 2020.

Until further notice, everyone who enters a UM FPI outpatient practice building is required to wear a face mask of some sort while onsite. If you do not have a mask of your own, we will provide you with one. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Rigorous Cleaning and Sanitization

We are constantly disinfecting welcome and waiting areas. Exam rooms are extensively cleaned between patients. Hand sanitizer is available throughout our facility.

Visitor Policy

Please note that during this time we are asking patients to arrive at their appointments alone. There are exceptions, including if the patient is a minor, is in need of mobile assistance, or requires a translator. Prior to your appointment, please inform us if someone will be accompanying you.

Telehealth

Virtual appointments are now available for some health services. We strongly encourage patients to schedule video and/or phone consults for all non-urgent medical concerns. Limiting in-person visits will help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

Please contact your health care provider to find out if telehealth is available for your next visit, or for information regarding insurance coverage.

Primary, Specialty and Urgent Care in Columbia

At this time, we are asking all patients in our Columbia locations to call 667-214-2100 option 1 when you arrive, in order to be registered and checked in for scheduled and walk-in visits. If your symptoms are emergency-related, please proceed immediately to the registration desk.

Please note: We have a limited supply of COVID-19 tests available at Urgent Care in Columbia. We're following CDC and Maryland Department of Health guidelines to prioritize our testing to high-risk categories. Our physicians determine on a case-by-case basis whether a test is performed on any given individual.
