We are back for IN PERSON conferences!!!

Our program offers a robust didactic curriculum with noon conference held five days a week in-person with a virtual option on Teams.  All conferences are recorded and available for later viewing.  These conferences are considered protected education time for all residents.  

Below is the monthly conference schedule we follow to ensure a wide variety of topics are covered throughout the year.

 NOTE:  Pulm/CC Core held on a Tuesday or Thursday or each month.  All case conferences include Board Review. Yale Curriculum and Journal Club alternate weeks.

We offer a wide variety of conferences to meet the needs of all of our learners.  

  • Board Review: Chief resident and resident lead conference to review MKSAP questions to prepare for the certifying exam from the ABIM.
  • Chief Resident Case Conference: Our inpatient chief residents prepare an interactive conference discussing a recent case from one of our inpatient services. 
  • Core Curriculum Conference: Noon lectures given by our subspecialty medicine faculty and fellows about a variety of internal medicine topics. 
  • Yale Curriculum in Primary Care: Small group case based discussion on outpatient care medicine topics. Sessions are lead by the primary care chief resident and our General Internal Medicine faculty. 
  • Journal Club: Small groups of residents have the opportunity to review and present evidence based medicine with faculty guidance. Provides residents with the skills to conduct a critical appraisal of the literature and apply it to a clinical situation. 
  • Literature in Medicine: Residents gather to read and reflect on short stories, poetry and essays.
  • Medical Grand Rounds: Weekly conference for the Department of Medicine where expert speakers from our faculty and guest lectures present clinically relevant and timely topics. Featured lectures include the annual Resident Research Grand Rounds and monthly Clinical Pathologic Conference. 
  • Morbidity and Mortality Conference: Monthly series presented by our PSQI chief resident. Creates an opportunity for residents to discuss recent cases and improve their patient safety knowledge. 
  • Senior Resident Conference: Each senior resident writes a manuscript about a clinical or research topic of their choosing with the most outstanding manuscripts presented at the end of the year. 
  • Medical Ethics Conference: Quarterly conference presented by our pulmonary critical care and medical ethics faculty. Interactive case discussion with a focus on medical ethics.
