A one-year accredited fellowship. Rotations include inpatient consultation, comprehensive outpatient substance use disorder treatment, adolescent and young adult residential treatment, pain medicine, rural/correctional telemedicine, and hospital-based medically supervised withdrawal management.

An active academic program including seminars, journal club, book club and case conferences supplements clinical training. Opportunities are available for medical student and resident teaching and participation in research. Rotation sites include University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC), UMMC-Midtown Campus, Mountain Manor Treatment Center, and University of Maryland Rehabilitation and Orthopedic Institute.

Upcoming Deadlines

  • October 18, 2021: As a program participating in the Addiction Medicine Common Decision Date, the University of Maryland Addiction Medicine Fellowships will begin making acceptance offers on and after October 18, 2021.

Process

  • September 27, 2021: Submit applications to be considered for a decision on or soon after October 18.
  • August 18 to October 1, 2021: Interviews will be held for candidates under consideration for a decision on or soon after October 18.

Applicants will have 48 hours to respond to a fellowship offer. If any positions remain unfilled, the fellowship will continue accepting applications on a rolling basis.
