We've been a leader in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship education and training for more than 60 years, and are delighted to share more information with you.

Our fully ACGME accredited two-year Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, sponsored by the University of Maryland Medical System, nationally ranked Sheppard Pratt Health System, and State of Maryland is one of the largest in the country.

Acclaimed Teaching and Research Hub

Our transdisciplinary team provides preventative and therapeutic mental health services for children and adolescents through inpatient, ambulatory, and community programs. We have a child and adolescent inpatient unit, consultation/liaison service, outpatient child and adolescent clinic, trauma specialty clinic, outpatient Center for Infant psychiatry, and nationally acclaimed School Mental Health Program.

On a campus-wide level, I'm also proud to share that the University of Maryland School of Medicine includes internationally renowned facilities, such as the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, Institute of Biotechnology, Institute for Virology – and much more, all within walking distance of one another.

Diversity and Inclusion

We interview qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds to foster a more skilled and innovative workforce. Our diversity and inclusion efforts include expanding our curriculum, nominating and supporting trainees for the American Psychiatric Association Minority Fellowships, and participation in events such as the Department's annual Cultural and Diversity Symposium.
