CIPP surgeon with students

When summer is right around the corner, the Center for Injury Prevention and Policy (CIPP) educational programs are underway. Each summer, close to 1,500 students visit us from all across the country to experience a wide array of health care careers. Students also learn about the skills vital to succeed in college and in the 21st century health care environment. Students will visit throughout the months of June and July to:

  • Explore a variety of health care professions through interactive curriculum, lectures and small group activities.
  • Experience life in the Shock Trauma Center (STC) and interact with various medical staff.
  • Enhance scholastic credentials to prepare for the college application process, university life and, ultimately, a fulfilling career in health care.

Please join us in welcoming the Lead America and Georgetown summer students to learn more about the health care system and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.

Our mission at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center is "to serve as a multidisciplinary clinical, educational and research institution dedicated to world class standards in the prevention and management of critical injury and illness and its consequences." Thank you for your support in educating our future health care providers.
