A groundbreaking ceremony on May 13, 2010 marked the start of construction for the University of Maryland Medical Center's newest facility, which is designed to significantly enhance its world-class Shock Trauma Center and increase its capacity to care for patients who need the highest level of trauma, emergency and critical care.
