BALTIMORE, MD (April 25) - Three nurses at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) were honored by Baltimore magazine as the region’s “Top Nurses” for their extraordinary contributions to health care. June Beeman, CPNP, was recognized in the pediatric non-neonatal category, Ann Marie Murphy, RN, was recognized in the pediatric neonatal category, and Christine Blanch, RN, in the rehabilitation category. The nurses will be honored at the annual “Excellence in Nursing” awards event next month.

“We are thrilled to see our nurses recognized by the community for their excellent care and compassion,” said Sheldon Stein, president and CEO. “They, like all our nurses at MWPH, are the best in their field and we are proud to celebrate their success.”

For the greater part of the year, Baltimore magazine collected hundreds of nurse nominations; of those, 75 were chosen in 18 nursing specialties as tops in the region. The nurses will be celebrated at a dinner reception at The Belvedere Hotel on May 1 and are featured in Baltimore magazine's May issue. Chrissie Heimer, Outpatient RN, served as a member of the advisory committee.

“We are so proud of the three nurses who received recognition as Baltimore’s Best,” said Jenny Bowie, RN, BSN, MBA, Chief Nurse Executive. “They are an exceptional representation of the nursing team here at Mt Washington who care deeply for every patient and family they touch. Each of these three nurses is committed to excellence and it shows in every patient interaction they have."
