Mt. Washington Pediatric Foundation Announces New Board Members

BALTIMORE, MD (March 12) - The Mt. Washington Pediatric Foundation, Inc., (“Foundation”) an advisory board of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) announced the addition of three new board members: Jim Gordon, Dan Joerres and Frank Palmer. The three individuals were confirmed unanimously by the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital Board of Trustees, the governing board for MWPH. The Foundation Board is responsible for raising, receiving, investing and administering funds in support of the hospital’s mission. 

Jim Gordon is the principal of Summit Group Consulting, a strategic and crisis communications consulting firm. Prior to Summit, Jim held executive positions with Time Warner Cable, Discovery Communications and Comcast Corporation. Jim also serves on the board of Navigators USA and is active in the Baltimore community.

Dan Joerres is the president and general manager of WBAL-TV. Prior to moving to Baltimore in 2011, Dan worked at Hearst-owned stations in Greensboro, North Carolina and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Dan serves on several boards in the Baltimore area including Loyola Blakefield Board of Trustees, University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, the Greater Baltimore Committee, and the Baltimore Police Department’s Signal 13 Foundation. Dan’s wife Annemarie works as a dietitian at MWPH.

Frank Palmer, HCC, is an executive vice president at Whiting-Turner with over 40 years in health care construction. Frank’s well-established relationship with Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital began in 1998 with the construction of the Jack & Mae Rosenberg Center for Pediatric Respiratory Medicine. Whiting-Turner continues to collaborate with Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital on multiple projects today. Frank serves on several boards including St. Joseph's Medical Center and the Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore. He is also a member of the American Society for Health Care Engineering.
