Mt. Washington Pediatric Foundation Announces New Board Members

BALTIMORE, MD (July 19) - The Mt. Washington Pediatric Foundation, Inc., (“Foundation”) an advisory board of Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) announced the addition of two new board members: Dr. Nirav Shah and Andrea Brown-Gee. The two individuals were confirmed unanimously by the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital Board of Trustees, the governing board for MWPH. The Foundation Board is responsible for raising, receiving, investing and administering funds in support of the hospital’s mission.

Dr. Nirav Shah graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with a BS in Biology with Honors and a Minor in Chemistry and then went on to pursue his medical education at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He completed his fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the National Institutes of Health and his fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases at the University of Maryland Medical Center. Dr. Shah is board certified in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine. He currently divides his time equally as a clinician at the University of Maryland Medical Center and as the Assistant Dean of Curriculum at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Andrea Brown-Gee is Vice President of Maryland Programs for the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative. Ms. Brown oversees a comprehensive set of services which include Case Management, Family Advocacy, Education, Legal Services, Environmental Assessment and Housing Interventions. Ms. Brown recently served as the Vice President of Strategic Planning and Partnerships for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). She holds a Master’s Degree in Legal & Ethical Studies from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Morgan State University.
