BALTIMORE, MD (April 19) - Three nurses at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) were honored by Baltimore magazine at the "Excellence in Nursing" awards event last night. Jenny Bowie, RN, BSN, MBA, Chief Nurse Executive was recognized in the management category, Barbara Moore, MSN, RN, CRNP, was recognized in the pediatric neonatal category, and Stanjay Daniels, RN, in the pediatric non-neonatal category. The nurses were among 50 who were honored for extraordinary contributions to health care in the region.
"We're very proud of the excellent nursing team at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital," said Sheldon Stein, president and CEO, MWPH. "From our inpatient units to our outpatient clinics, our nurses provide top care to our young patients, and Jenny, Barb and Stanjay are shining examples of our efforts."
For the greater part of the year, Baltimore magazine collected hundreds of nurse nominations; of those, 50 were chosen in 21 nursing specialties as tops in the region. The nurses were celebrated at a dinner reception at Delta Hotels Baltimore Hunt Valley and are featured in Baltimore magazine's May issue. Nurse manager, Colleen Neidig, served as a member of the advisory committee.
"I am honored to share this recognition with Stanjay and Barb, and I want to also recognize all of Mt. Washington's outstanding team of nurses," said Bowie. "They bring their hearts and their minds to the hospital every day to care for our children and their families. Stanjay Daniels is a gift to our nursing team here at Mt. Washington, and in her role as Nurse Team Leader she has brought a new focus and passion to orienting new nurses. Barb Moore loves what she does and it shows in the care she provides and the connection she makes with the families of every child in her care."
"The nursing team at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital is dedicated to providing care, compassion and support to our young patients," says Bowie. "This recognition speaks to the reality of Mt. Washington - it's no secret that our staff is filled with Top Nurses."
