BALTIMORE, MD - Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (MWPH) is excited to announce plans for the 6th Annual Storybook Gala. On Thursday night, gala chair Alison Cohen revealed the "Alice in Wonderland" theme and noted that the event will be held on April 6, 2019 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel. Cohen also shared that Ruth's Chris Steak House will return for a fourth year as the gala's Presenting Sponsor.

"It is a true honor to serve as chair of the Storybook Gala committee this year," said Cohen, who is Vice President of Priority 1 Automotive Group and previously managed the gala's silent auction. "The funds raised in previous years have made such an impact on the lives of MWPH's young patients. And, for me, there is nothing better than working with a team of such dedicated committee members to plan this magical evening."

Last year's "Where the Wild Things Are"-themed gala was attended by more than 600 guests and raised $315,000. Overall, the Storybook Gala has raised nearly $1.25 million in five years. Other highlights of the 2018 Gala included two meaningful patient stories, as well as a special performance by the step team at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, a partner of the hospital. Additionally, hundreds of children's books were collected for a book drive, sponsored by Priority 1 Automotive Group.

"We are looking forward to our sixth annual gala to benefit the children here at MWPH," said President & CEO, Sheldon Stein. "Over the years, this event has helped our hospital acquire necessary medical equipment, engage new supporters and celebrate the wonderful achievements of our staff. This year, we are fortunate to have Alison Cohen serve as our chairperson. Her enthusiasm and experience in helping organize this special event will be a big part of the gala's continued success."

The 2019 Storybook Gala will include dinner and dancing, a silent auction, live auction, "Fund-A-Wish" appeal and much more fun with its wondrous theme. Community events leading up to the April gala will raise excitement and support for the major event. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to remain updated on Gala happenings.
