Have you ever been told you are at risk for developing prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes? You may be eligible to be part of a free diabetes prevention class.

Have you ever been told you have prediabetes? Or that you are at risk for type 2 diabetes? If so, did you know that you can still prevent diabetes?

At the Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at UM Midtown, our free Diabetes Prevention Program — developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) — is proven to help people with prediabetes prevent or delay the development of type 2 diabetes.

The program is designed not only to help reduce your risk but also to take charge of your health. During each session, a small group of participants meets with lifestyle coaches, who will teach a lesson and lead a group discussion on topics like:

  • Eating healthy,
  • Adding physical activity,
  • Managing stress,
  • How to stay on track when eating out
