About Me
Gilah Speedone, CRNP, is an experienced Nurse Practitioner with over six years of experience in chronic pain management, treating patients with chronic orthopedic conditions and complex medical issues. Special interests include optimizing treatment for chronic pain, with a focus on the unique needs of medically complex and geriatric patient populations.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with chronic pain and acute pain exacerbations using a multidisciplinary approach.
Incorporate pharmacologic, alternative, and interventional treatments to optimize patient wellness and physical functioning.
- Provide extensive patient education on chronic orthopedic conditions, functional impact, and individualized goals.
- Ensure safe opioid stewardship, adhering to state and federal laws and evidence-based practices for chronic opioid management.
Gilah’s career has spanned community-based case management for mental health patients, as well as roles in the emergency department and recovery room at Shock Trauma prior to becoming a nurse practitioner. She is a strong advocate for her patients; with a deep understanding of the diverse challenges they face. A core tenet of her clinical practice is recognizing the impact of life circumstances on health. Gilah is dedicated to connecting patients with the resources they need to maintain their health and independence.
Gilah is a proud Army veteran who served in the Maryland Army National Guard while pursuing her nursing education. She deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF 1, 2003–2004), where she provided tactical convoy security. Her military service continues to inform her commitment to patient care, resilience, and teamwork in her clinical practice.
