About Me
As a pediatric hematologist-oncologist, Dr. Teresa York diagnoses and treats blood disorders and cancers in young patients from birth to age 21. Her clinical interests include leukemia, lymphoma, methotrexate-resistant cells, solid tumors and monitoring cancer survivors for late effects of their treatment.
Dr. York's approach to patient care involves educating and building strong relationships with patients and their families as well as treating the whole patient rather than just their disease. She joined the team at University of Maryland Golisano Children's Hospital in 2004 as an assistant professor. Currently, she is the division head and clinic director of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the children's hospital.
On multiple occasions, Dr. York has been named a "Top Doctor" in the specialty of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology by Baltimore magazine.
