About Me

Dr. Gorman is a neurologist who specializes in caring for individuals with spinal cord injury or disease. His practice includes:

  • Inpatient rehabilitation
  • Outpatient care
  • Management of spasticity (with botulinum toxin injections and implanted baclofen pumps)

Dr. Gorman's main research interest is in the field of spinal cord injury medicine. He was the principal researcher in a study comparing the use of robotic treadmill training to aquatic therapy in persons with incomplete spinal cord injury. He was also an investigator in a study of exoskeletal robotic walking in people with spinal injury.

In addition, Dr. Gorman has participated in numerous pharmaceutical trials and was a co-investigator in a study that led to the approval of a neuroprosthetic functional electrical stimulation device to restore hand function in persons with tetraplegia.

Dr. Gorman's dedication to his patients has earned him recognition as a "Top Doc" by Baltimore magazine.
