About Me
Dr. Shakoor is a member of the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UM UCH) Pulmonary & Sleep Medicine practice. He works in both the outpatient office setting in Bel Air, Maryland, and the UM UCH intensive care units. He is known as an excellent clinician and collaborator with other members of the care team.
Dr. Shakoor is director of pulmonary and respiratory care at UM UCH as well as director of respiratory care at Forest Hill Health & Rehabilitation. He attended Aga Khan University Medical College in Pakistan. He completed his internal medicine residency, including an additional year as chief resident, in 2005 at the Pennsylvania State University Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He completed his pulmonary/allergy and critical care fellowship in 2008 at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
Prior to his current practice, Dr. Shakoor worked in Iowa for several years. He has been named a Top Doc by Baltimore magazine in 2025.
