Christine Nwanneka Okwesili, MD

As an infectious disease physician, Dr. Okwesili diagnoses, manages and treats a wide range of infections, namely those caused by bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses. She strives to learn as much as possible about her patients' conditions, such as when their symptoms started and potentially related factors like recent procedures, meals or travel activities. She also makes sure patients understand why their coming to her for care is important.

"I always think the story matters in infectious disease. The story and timeline are very important, so I'm very attentive to my patients and eager to learn all the details of what they've been experiencing," Dr. Okwesili says.

She adds: "If you're looking for a thoughtful assessment of your presenting illness, I am the person for you."

Dr. Okwesili is also very passionate about the management of patients with HIV and destigmatizing the disease. "I welcome all persons living with HIV who are looking for a medical home for their care," she says.

In her free time, Dr. Okwesili enjoys traveling.
