Pediatric asthma is the No. 1 reason children are brought to the emergency room and the third-leading cause of child hospitalization. It's also a leading cause for kids missing school. It should NEVER be the number-one excuse why boys and girls are not active.

Kohl's Cares Asthma Campaign and the University of Maryland Children's Hospital are working together to raise awareness of asthma in children, what can trigger it, and where and how best to control it.

The University of Maryland Children's Hospital operates the Kohl's Breathmobile, a mobile clinic that stops at area elementary and middle schools to provide kids with the care they need.

  • The Breathmobile has provided care to nearly 4,000 Baltimore City children through approximately 13,000 patient visits since 2002.
  • Since 2008, Kohl's has donated more than $2 million to support children’s health and wellness programs at University of Maryland Children's Hospital through Kohl's Cares®.
