Top 50 Children's Hospital
The Children’s Heart Program is once again ranked among the nation's top 50 pediatric cardiology and heart surgery centers for the fourth year in a row, according to the 2021-22 edition of the U.S. News & World Report Best Children's Hospitals. There are nearly 200 qualified pediatric centers in the country.
Magnet Designation
For the third consecutive time UMMC nursing has achieved a four-year Magnet® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Magnet® is the gold standard in nursing, as only 8 percent of hospitals in the country have earned this recognition. Our pediatric nurses greatly contribute to this nursing success.
Comprehensive Cancer Center
The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) is one of the National Cancer Institute's highest designation cancer hospitals. The prestigious distinction recognizes the cancer center's high caliber of scientific leadership and robust programs in basic, clinical and population science research, placing it in the top tier of cancer centers nationwide.
